Britney Spears appeared in court this week to fight the conservatorship held over her by her father Jamie Spears. The Toxic singer said: “I want to get married and have a baby… But conservator won’t let me.” She compared the conservatorship to “sex trafficking” and said she was “forced to take Lithium”, a common treatment for bipolar disorder, as a punishment.
Her father said he “loves his daughter very much” despite their ongoing legal battle. Britney is currently in a relationship with Sam Asghari, whom the conservatorship prevents her from marrying. He has supported her through the legal battle, even wearing a ‘Free Britney’ t-shirt publicly on the day of her appearance in court.
Harrison Ford injures shoulder on Indiana Jones movie set
Harrison Ford may need surgery after he injured his shoulder in a choreographed fight scene on the set of the upcoming new Indiana Jones film. Insiders say it could prevent him from doing further filming for four to five weeks, at least. They said he “aggravated an old injury, but it’s bad enough for him to require surgery to put it right.”
Disney confirmed they will be adjusting the filming schedule to account for the injury. The filming has been taking place in Yorkshire, Bamburgh, Scotland and Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. The film is currently due to hit cinemas in July 2022.
Rolling Stones’ Bill Wyman closes his restaurant
Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman has confirmed he is shutting down Sticky Fingers, his restaurant in Kensington. He said the pandemic made it “impossible” for the restaurant to continue running and said he is “devastated” about the closure.
One friend said: “It combined his passions for comfort food and music, and it always meant a lot to him, right up until the end.” Wyman opened the American-style eatery in 1989 and named it after a 1971 Stones album. It was decorated with over 100 items from the Bill Wyman Archive, including some of his own instruments.
Strictly Come Dancing confirms new judge for 2021 series
BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed the new addition to its judging panel for the upcoming season. Bruno Tonioli has been a judge on the show since 2004, but after having to miss the 2020 season because of Covid-19 travel restrictions, he announced he would not be returning. Instead, he will continue his work on Dancing with the Stars in the US.
It has been announced that Anton Du Beke will join the judges as Bruno’s replacement. Anton is the only professional dancer to have starred in every series of Strictly and will now move behind the judging table for the first time. He said: “My loves I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be stepping into Bruno’s brogues for the next series of Strictly. It’s a dream come true to be judging alongside the best of the best and I promise to be kinder to all the couples than any of them have ever been to me.”
Courtney Love reportedly owes over $350,000 in taxes
According to California’s tax board, singer Courtney love owes more than $357,000 in taxes. She has previously come under fire for failing to pay taxes, having a tax lien of over $568,000 in 2018. In 2016, she settled her tax debts with the IRS for $266,000.
The State of California Franchise Tax Board publishes 500 of its delinquent taxpayers twice a year. The latest publication also included action star Steven Seagal, Reservoir Dogs actor Michael Madsen and Empire actor Terrence Howard, alongside Kurt Cobain’s widow. Madsen has also been in trouble with the tax authorities before, settling a $640,000 debt in 2013. He currently owes over $500,000.
