EastEnders legend Dame Barbara Windsor dies age 83
Dame Windsor died on Thursday at a London care home, her husband Scott Mitchell has confirmed. The star was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2014 and went public with the news in 2018. She rose to fame playing Peggy Mitchell in EastEnders and starring in the Carry On films.
Tributes have flooded in from fans and co-stars alike. David Walliams called her "the unofficial Queen of England" in a tweet on Thursday. Jonathan Ross also paid his respects, tweeting: "Barbara Windsor in real life was everything you might have hoped for. So warm, so funny, so kind."
The X Factor will not return to screens until 2022 at the earliest
The X Factor will take a break for at least 12 months due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, according to The Sun. An insider said: "ITV has decided that next year just isn't going to be feasible for X Factor". However, they said that All Stars Musicals is in line to replace it. For its third season in 2021, it has been rumoured that John Barrowman will return to host the show, with singer Elaine Paige coming back as a judge.
Following low ratings for the last few years, X Factor spin-offs have been hitting screens over the previous two years. In 2019, X Factor: Celebrity saw reality stars, actors and presenters compete in the singing competition. X Factor: The Band was another mini-series that auditioned people to be part of the next boy or girl group.
David and Victoria Beckham plan to add a 'super [wine] cellar' to their £6 million Cotswolds home
The superstar couple say they "plan to build a super cellar housing 3,000 bottles of wine" in their Cotswolds home. The cellar will be accessible from their garage, which is being expanded to fit their fleet of luxury cars. They previously had a backlash from neighbours after excavating over 4,000 square metres of ground to build a kidney-shaped lake with an island.
The family have spent most of lockdown in this Grade II listed home. They have reportedly had to submit a five-year maintenance plan to show how they will support the area's biodiversity amid their extravagant renovations.
Alexa Chung's fashion brand, Alpha Charlie Limited, loses £2.3 million
The figures filed publicly with Companies House show that shareholders had to put £1.7 million into the brand, plus additional funds in June this year. These figures do not include the impact of the pandemic.
The report said the Covid-19 pandemic "has had a significant impact on the business cashflow". It continued that the pandemic is "not expected to have a material impact on the business post December 2020". The report has increased criticism for the brand's luxury price tags.
