Shawshank Redemption star Tim Robbins filed divorce papers on Wednesday, confusing fans who didn’t know he was married. He submitted the documents in LA to end his marriage to Gratiela Brancusi, who is 33 years younger than Robbins. Brancusi is the same age as Robbins’ son Jack Henry, who he had with his ex, Susan Sarandon.
The couple had reportedly been dating for three years, though no one is sure when they married. She was spotted with a diamond ring on her wedding finger in November 2019. Brancusi was his first relationship since his split from Sarandon in 2009.
Denise Van Outen opens up about breaking her shoulder on Dancing on Ice
Actress Denise Van Outen has revealed that she performed live on Dancing on Ice despite having broken her shoulder in three places. She initially thought it was dislocated, saying she vomited in pain immediately after the fall. After seeking medical attention, she was forced to bow out of the competition as it was deemed “too dangerous.”
Her partner, Matt Evers, had to "completely re-choreograph the entire routine" to remove all risky lifts after the accident. She recalls "literally clinging on to Matt for dear life" during their final routine on the show. The second episode of the series will air on ITV on Sunday at 6 pm.
Oscar-winner Cloris Leachman dies aged 94
Cloris Leachman’s son confirmed the actress has died of natural causes aged 94. Leachman rose to fame with starring roles in The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Last Picture Show.
In the announcement, her son said: “She had the best life beginning to end that you could wish for someone.” According to her lifelong manager, Juliet Green, Leachman was also a "passionate advocate for animal rights." The family request donations are made in her name to PETA or Last Chance for Animals.
Good Morning Britain poised to overtake BBC Breakfast in ratings
For the first time in 30 years, Good Morning Britain may overtake BBC Breakfast in ratings. GMB presenter Piers Morgan said, “I think it’s very likely we will overtake them in the ratings by the end of the year which will be an extraordinary achievement… They’re not moving, and we’re moving relentlessly upwards.”
Piers joined the show six years ago, and many credit him for its ongoing success. The show's YouTube channel has now racked up a billion views in 2020, and it has become the second most requested show on the ITV Hub (after Love Island). Piers also credits “the chemistry Susanna [Reid] and I have”.
Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have bought a £9m Malibu house together
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and 50 Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson have bought a Malibu home together after three years of dating. The house has six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, with an additional two-story guest house on the property. They reportedly haggled the cost down from its £10 million list price.
Chris Martin has two children from his previous marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow, which ended in 2014. He has been dating Dakota Johnson since 2018 when a mutual friend introduced them. The couple has since been on holiday with Gwyneth Paltrow and her current husband, Brad Falchuk.
