Just 450,000 viewers tuned in to ITV’s breakfast show Good Morning Britain on 1 June, marking the lowest number of viewers since it began seven years ago. When the panel, which then included Piers Morgan, reacted to Oprah’s interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, an all-time high of 1.9 million viewers watched.

Since Morgan quit on 10 March, there have been ongoing concerns about viewing figures. Piers has claimed that ITV has asked him to return to the show, telling The Sun: “Never say never”. However, this claim has not been confirmed. Several GMB regulars have been stepping in since Piers’ departure, including weatherman Alex Beresford. Rumours have said ITV is interested in Victoria Derbyshire as Piers’ replacement long-term.

New Indiana Jones filming starts at UK’s most haunted castle

The newest Indiana Jones movie begins filming next week at Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland, said to be the most haunted castle in the UK. Legend has it, the Pink Lady ghost has roamed the halls since her lover abandoned her and she jumped from the battlements in the Middle Ages.

The film crew described the location as “a seriously creepy place”. While the team are excited to get underway with such a huge production, many are reportedly “reluctant to even go into the oldest part of the castle”. The newest film will star Harrison Ford reprising his usual role alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen in unconfirmed roles.

Lord Sugar told he’s ‘out of touch’ for promoting the Covid vaccine to young people

Lord Alan Sugar, star of The Apprentice, tweeted this week to "heartily encourage all 18-35 year-olds to have the [Covid-19] vaccination". While many praised him for the tweet, there was a number who were displeased with his remarks. One user responded: "Wow you're out of touch".

A furious Lord Sugar explained his personal connection to the pandemic: “Out of touch! My brother and sister died from it in December and January. I can assure you I am not out of touch.”

He doubled-down on his encouragement for young people to get vaccinated, emphasising that it not only protects young people, but also the older people they may come into contact with.
