In the latest from Britney Spears’ ongoing battle to have her father removed as her conservator, a judge has thrown out her bid. In a testimony last week, she claimed the conservatorship arrangement was “abusive.” Fans were shocked by the testimony, but her ex-husband Jason Alexander said it “didn’t even scratch the surface of the abuse” she faced under the arrangement.

The pop star has been controlled by the conservatorship since a series of mental breakdowns in 2008. However, it recently came to light that Spears has been trying to escape the arrangement for the past five years. The judge refused her request to have her father Jamie Spears removed as her conservator, with lawyers expected to file a fresh petition soon. Mr Spears, in the meantime, has called for a probe for his co-conservator Jodi Montgomery's involvement, despite Britney's attempts to make her sole conservator in place of her father.

Gogglebox star Pete McGarry dies suddenly from bowel cancer

Gogglebox star Pete McGarry died this week from bowel cancer, just days after being told he had six months to live. His wife Linda, who also stars in the show, said “he was my life” and said her son, also on the show, was “really cut up” about the news. She added: “Pete was a lovely man, and I was so lucky to have him for 25 years. I said to him, ‘We’ve not only been 25 years, it’s been day and night with each other.' He was my life.

After starring in the show, Linda’s son George later starred in Big Brother. Linda said: “[Pete] was so proud of George when he was in Big Brother too. Him and George really loved each other." Pete died in their Essex home, surrounded by his family.

BBC Radio 1 presenter Nick Grimshaw has quit his position after 14 years at the station, the DJ announced on his drive-time show on Wednesday (30 June). The BBC have now hired Jordan North and Vick Hope to replace him. Jordan previously hosted Radio 1’s Sunday ‘Greatest Hits’ show and rose to fame in I’m a Celebrity… Get me out of here! in 2020. Vick Hope hosts Life Hacks and the Official Chart First Look on Sundays and will now take over Grimshaw's drive-time show.

The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh reportedly has £12.5 million in the bank after earning almost £1 million this year, becoming one of the richest stars of daytime TV and taking his net worth to around £20 million. He has hosted The Chase for over ten years and also now hosts Blankety Blank.

Meanwhile, This Morning stars Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have amassed £8 million and £10 million, respectively. He has also recently been commissioned for new BBC series Breaking Dad starring Walsh alongside his son.

Sue Perkins splits from partner after eight-year relationship

Former Great British Bake Off host Sue Perkins has confirmed her split from long-term partner and Naked Attraction host Anna Richardson, but claims it was “amicable”. The pair are reportedly determined to remain friends after their split, and the decision was made with “a heavy heart”, according to insiders.

But all hope is not lost. An insider and friend of the couple added: “Nobody else is involved and now the pair are throwing themselves into work. No one would be massively surprised if they eventually reconciled. Time will tell.” Anna previously discovered she was infertile during filming for The Sex Education Show, but said she was keen to start a family via adoption with Sue.
