Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher estimated he could sell the Oasis back catalogue for £200 million, and wants to use the money to buy a super-yacht. Talking on a podcast this week, he told the host: “[Bob] Dylan just sold his back catalogue. Hedge fund guys are buying them up. All my songs come to me in 2025. You get an extraordinary amount of money and then they pop up in McDonald’s adverts for the rest of time.

“What do you do? Leave it to your kids? They don’t value music. Or do you take the £200 million and buy the super-yacht and the Learjet and go: ‘F***ing have it, come on.' I think the latter. I’m getting a super-yacht, I’m going to call it Mega Mega White Thing. I’m going to spend a year at sea. People can come and visit. I’ll be flying out my hairdresser, Neil, and paying £40,000 for a haircut. I’ll have a chef.”

Katie Price defends “essential work trip” to Turkey for liposuction

Katie Price is flying to Turkey for liposuction surgery, which will be filmed for a new reality show. She splurged £12,000 with Mono Cosmetic Surgery in Turkey, where a mum died last year following her liposuction. Turkey is currently on the UK government’s ‘red list’, meaning that people should only visit in "extreme circumstances," and travellers must quarantine on their return.

The star said she gained two stone over the past year, partially due to a shocking accident in Turkey where she broke both feet. A representative said: "Despite her efforts to lose weight she has gained over two stone – [which put] further strain on her feet and is directly affecting her… Katie accepts she is in a fortunate position to be able to undergo this procedure and would like to reassure in doing so is part of her 'work', in sharing her journey as she endures further emotional, mental struggles and challenges.”

Jennifer Saunders says Absolutely Fabulous would never be made today

The legendary star of sitcom Absolutely Fabulous Jennifer Saunders claimed her show would never be made in 2021. She said: “I think it has changed comedy like what we used to make. I think we would probably talk ourselves out of most of it now. It would be like, ‘We won’t have a good answer so let’s not do that’. I think people do talk themselves out of stuff now because everything is sensitive.”

However, she also spoke about the comedy industry being sexist and prejudiced when she and Dawn French launched their careers in the 1980s. She explained: “I do think people are more wary of what they say and do now, certainly. And probably some of it is not bad as when we started as alternative comedians. It was a sort of a reaction against the mainstream comedians who were considered sexist and racist.”

Piers Morgan slams journalist for using “patronising sexist slur”

Piers Morgan was in yet another Twitter row this week, this time with activist and journalist Ash Sarkar. Piers tweeted in support of Jennifer Saunders after her claim that Ab Fab wouldn't be made today. He agreed: “No fun or ‘inappropriate’ humour is allowed in the drab, dreary fascist world of wokedom.” Ash clapped back at the presenter: “Like, has anyone tried to cancel Ab Fab? No - in fact everyone agrees it's a little bit iconic, and it has this kind of legendary status. Sure, the culture and norms around comedy have changed a lot since it was made. That's just called the passage of time hun.”

Piers was not happy with Ash’s comment, particularly her use of the word ‘hun’. He wrote: “Please don’t call me ‘hun’- It’s a micro-aggressive patronising sexist slur that triggers my anxiety.” He later ranted about “cancel culture need[ing] to be cancelled.”

Kim Kardashian gets restraining order against alleged stalker

Kim Kardashian has reportedly gotten a restraining order against a man who posted her a diamond engagement ring and an emergency contraceptive pill in the post. According to her attorney's filings, Nicholas Costanza, the man allegedly behind the harassment, "showed up to her property a handful of times this year". He also turned up "at her gated community, telling guards he was there to pick her up for dinner".

Kim reportedly claimed he also shared a “bogus marriage cert[ificate]” for the two of them online along with “bizarre messages”. A judge has granted her a temporary restraining order, requiring Costanza to stay at least 100 yards away from her. She recently got a protective order against another man who allegedly tried to get into her home and harassed her for months.
