After being cancelled last year amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Isle of Wight Festival has confirmed it is returning in September with Liam Gallagher headlining the event. The three-day festival will also see headline acts David Guetta, Duran Duran and Snow Patrol perform. Other acts in the line-up include Tom Jones, James Arthur, Kaiser Chiefs, The Script, All Saints and Razorlight.

John Giddings, a promoter for the festival, said: “It’s a fantastic array of artists; from icons to emerging talent and not forgetting everything still to come from additional stages across the festival.”

The festival usually happens in June but has been pushed back this year to avoid restrictions and maximise its chances of going ahead. The last time the festival went ahead, in 2019, Liam Gallagher’s brother Noel headlined the event with his band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Alex Beresford replaces Piers Morgan on ITV’s Good Morning Britain

Weatherman Alex Beresford joined the main desk of Good Morning Britain on Friday 26th March to replace Piers Morgan. He joined Kate Garraway to present the show. She said: “It’s lovely to have you here, it very much is”.

This follows Piers Morgan's shock departure from Good Morning Britain after criticising Meghan Markle and saying he "didn't believe a word" of her interview with Oprah. Beresford fought with Piers Morgan on-air, knocking his coverage of the interview, which led to Piers dramatically storming off set. Beresford said: “I understand you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle, or had one and she cut you off… She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to.”

Stephen Spielberg and Tom Hanks come under fire for year-long war film-shoot

Stephen Spielberg and Tom Hanks have received criticism and several noise complaints due to their large war film-shoot in Oxfordshire. The stars have taken over a small village in Oxfordshire with a £1 million set to shoot their new miniseries: Masters of the Air. The series takes place on a World War 2 American air force base that has been recreated, including vintage fighter planes, gunfire and troops.

One source told The Sun: “It goes without saying recreating World War 2 is not the sort of thing anyone wants to see as they look out of their windows in a little rural village just as life was supposed to be returning to normal. Some of us were looking forward to garden parties – now it feels like we're going to need to put our tin hats on." The series is set for release on Apple TV in early 2022, with the cast yet to be announced. Hanks and Spielberg have previously worked together on Bridge of Spies, The Post and Band of Brothers.
