Rod Stewart chartered seven shipping containers to move his model train set to the UK

Rod Stewart has transported his treasured model train set spanning around 1,500 square feet from Los Angeles to Essex in seven shipping containers. Sources say Stewart treats the set “like the crown jewels” and spent a fortune having it transported. He started the set 28 years ago and has since been on the cover of a number of niche model railway magazines.

Four of Stewart’s children go to school in the UK, so he plans to spend more time in Essex with them and his wife Penny Lancaster. The six of them spent much of the UK lockdown together in their £4 million mansion in Essex.
