Westlife have announced performances this summer, which will make them the first performers at Wembley Stadium in two years. The concerts will be held on the 21st and 22nd August with All Saints supporting on both dates. They will also be supported by James Morrison on the first night, and Anne-Marie on the second. Tickets are due to be released on 26th March.
The band released their new album Spectrum in 2019 – their first release in nine years – but had to cancel their concert at Wembley Stadium in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Mark Feehily, who has been in the band since its inception in 1998, told MailOnline, “We never would have thought we’d be playing Wembley Stadium after 20 years of Westlife… This is going to be up there with the greatest experiences of my life.”
Piers Morgan confirmed return to ITV for Life Stories despite departure from Good Morning Britain
Piers Morgan has confirmed his ITV series Life Stories will continue despite his shock departure from their morning show last week. The last episode of this series of Life Stories aired on ITV on Thursday 18th March with an emotional interview with Colleen Nolan. Viewers flocked to Twitter to ask Piers about the future of the show, and he responded to one, “Don’t worry, I’m filming some more soon.”
Fans worried whether Life Stories would be discontinued after Piers received 57,000 Ofcom complaints on Good Morning Britain for his on-air row with Alex Beresford over his comments on Meghan Markle. After Meghan and Prince Harry’s landmark Oprah interview, Piers said he “didn’t believe a word” of it, prompting widespread backlash.
HBO has three new Game of Thrones spin-offs in development
HBO is currently casting its first Game of Thrones spin-off, House of the Dragon, but reportedly has three more spin-offs in development. Two of the newly announced prequel series – Flea Bottom and 10,000 Ships - currently have no writers attached. The last spin-off called 9 Voyages or Sea Snake is reportedly further along, but little is known about the development.
House of the Dragon has already begun casting, with Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Matt Smith and Steve Toussaint to feature in the revival. HBO hasn't offered up much information about these new developments. Still, fans are speculating that Steve Touissant and Eve Best, who have been cast as Velaryon and Princess Rhaenys in House of the Dragon, could reprise their roles in one or more of the prequel series.
The Queen and Prince Charles at odds on how to “deal” with Meghan and Harry
After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah last week, the Queen and Prince Charles are reportedly “not on the same page” with handling the aftermath. The two-hour interview that dominated headlines last week touched on the couple’s difficult relationship with the royal family, including allegations of racist remarks and withholding mental health support for Meghan.
According to royal reports, which were analysed in a Us Weekly podcast, the Queen wants to take a “more modest approach” while Prince Charles “seems to want to lay it all out there”. Co-host of the ‘Royally Us’ podcast, Molly Mulshine, said, “Apparently Charles wants to refute each of the allegations one by one.”
Pink announces new Amazon documentary All I Know So Far
Pink will join a long list of musicians creating documentaries, with a new Amazon release later this year. The documentary, titled All I Know So Far, will follow the Grammy award-winning pop singer as she prepared for her performance at Wembley Stadium in 2019.
Her Instagram announcement said it will be released on 21st May this year. It documents her on her Beautiful Trauma world tour “while trying to balance being a mum, a wife, a boss and a performer”. The new project follows the release of her eighth album Hurts 2B Human in April 2019, after which she confirmed she was taking a break from music.
